2nd Mikkeli Computational Mechanics Workshop Final Presentations 2nd Mikkeli Computational Mechanics Workshop organized by Research Centre YTI of Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences, CompMechLab and Helsinki School of Economics was brought off on August 10, 2007.
During the last day of the CompMechWorkshop Prof. Alexey Borovkov, Head of CompMechLab presented a short overview of past, present and future of collaboration between CompMechLab and YTI Research Centre.

CompMechLab engineers – leaders of the 3 teams working on different tasks during the workshop – also presented their reports that contained statements of the problems, discussed with representatives of the industrial companies, solutions and preliminary results.
P. Goncharov. “Modeling and analysis of the metallic sandwich-panels based on finite element non-linear solution”.

A. Nemov. “Multi-variant analysis of the layered composite material containing foam under impact loading (bowling lane)”.

O. Klyavin. “Finite element analysis of the crash-test between vehicle and composite energy-absorbing lighting columns”.
After the reports representatives of YTI Research Center and CompMechLab worked out the mutual decision to continue research work in all three mentioned above directions.
In the evening all CompMechWorkshop participants enjoyed themselves in the best region restaurant Tertti Manor. 2007-08-15
