4th Mikkeli Computational Mechanics Workshop Results 4th Mikkeli Computational Mechanics Workshop organized by Research Centre YTI of Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences and CompMechLab was held from August 9th till 16th, 2009. Five industrial cases provided by three companies - Tehomet , Rocla and Stainton were solved during the Workshop.
- Lighting mast structural analysis under wind loading
- CFD Analysis of a garage ventilation system
- Structural analysis of a lighting column under wind loading
- Simulation and design optimization of a monument under wind loading
- Finite Element Simulation and Analysis of the Rocla Mast under static loading
Simulation was carried out by CompMechLab computational experts. Along with computational work, Siemens NX training for YTI specialists was carried out by CompMechLab CAD specialists.
At the final day of the Workshop leaders of the computational teams presented the reports about work done, describing the statements of the problems, discussed with representatives of the industrial companies, analysis results and conclusions.
Three more reports were presented during the final day of the Workshop:
- Overview of CompMechLab experience in crash tests simulation by Prof. Alexey Borovkov, Head of CompMechLab
- Simulation and testing of stitched glassfibre laminates fatigue behavior by Yuri Novozhilov, Engineer of CompMechLab
- Review of Simpleware software basic capabilities by Olga Antonova, Lead Engineer of CompMechLab
The next, 5th CompMechWorkShop is scheduled for August 1-8, 2010. 2009-09-03
